Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026
This policy explains exactly what happens to your photos and your data when you use the Sketchingo mobile application. It is written to describe what the app actually does, step by step, rather than to cover every hypothetical.
The short version
Sketchingo has no user accounts and asks for no personal information. Your finished coloring pages are stored on your own phone, not on our servers. The one thing that does leave your device is the photo you choose to convert, because turning it into line art requires processing it.
What happens to a photo you convert
When you tap Generate, the following happens in order:
- The photo is resized on your phone so that its longer side is at most 1536 pixels.
- It is sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) to our server at api.sketchingo.app.
- Our server forwards the image to Replicate, the third-party service that runs the image model which produces the line art.
- The resulting line drawing is sent back to your phone, where it is converted to pure black and white and stored locally.
Our server does not keep a copy of your photo. It holds the image only in memory for the few seconds needed to pass it on, and writes nothing to disk.
Replicate processes the image on their own infrastructure and under their own privacy terms, which you can read at replicate.com/privacy. We do not control how long they retain data.
What stays on your phone
Every coloring page you create, along with how far you have got with colouring it, is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. It is never uploaded. If you uninstall the app or use Clear history in Settings, that data is permanently deleted and we have no way to recover it.
Images you explicitly export are written to your device's gallery or downloads folder, where they behave like any other file you own.
The SVG export
If you use the SVG export, the finished coloring page is sent to api.sketchingo.app, converted from a bitmap into a vector drawing, and returned to you. As with generation, the file is processed in memory and not retained.
Server logs
Like nearly every web server, ours records standard technical entries for each request: the IP address it came from, the time, and which endpoint was called. These logs exist to keep the service running and to detect abuse. They do not contain your photos and are not used to build any profile of you.
What we do not do
- We do not require or offer accounts, and we do not collect names, email addresses or phone numbers.
- We do not use advertising networks.
- We do not use third-party analytics or tracking software in the app.
- We do not sell or share your data with anyone beyond the processing described above.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera: handled by your phone's own camera app, so that you can take a photo to convert. Sketchingo receives only the picture you take.
- Photo access: only when you choose an existing picture yourself.
- Storage: on older Android versions, in order to save a finished page to your gallery when you ask for it.
- Internet: to send a photo for conversion.
Children
Sketchingo is designed to be usable by children, and we deliberately collect no personal information from anyone, regardless of age. Parents should be aware of one thing: whatever photograph is chosen will be transmitted for processing as described above. We would encourage supervising which photos a child converts, in the same way you would with any app that uses a camera.
Payments
Should paid features be introduced, payments will be handled entirely by Google Play. We would never see or store your card details.
Changes to this policy
If the way the app handles data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
